what type of hammy should I get after my current hamster passes? I was thinking a long hair male Syrian what you think

When I think about getting a new hamster, I always think, "man I want a black Syrian this time or I want a winter white".

Then I start looking around and something that I didn't expect jumps out and grabs hold of my heart. I'm sure whatever you pick will be perfect. =)

Obsidian is a Syrian and I am looking at building a 2691 sq in encloser that I can divide into two so maybe 2 hammys?

I get my hamsters at a local pet store called fins and critters in Shelby NC they breed for personalities over colors when I got Obie, I let her settle in then picked her up and held her, I soon learned she was a ghost hamster, but I did not mind I wanted her to be happy

Some hamsters get stressed by smelling other hamsters in the same room, be aware of it! I've only heard of it in syrians maybe dwarves, robos and chinese are more tolerant?

That's great! I don't have any good petstores near me. Unfortunantely, I got my first hamster from a petstore in our area, and she wasn't the healthiest, but if there is a more ethical petstore near you, that's really awesome! Also it's really great that you recognized that your hamster was a ghost hamster and gave her the space that she needs.

Obie was not a ghost hamster last night she almost chewed though her bin again had to put a hide with a rock in the spot

sadly the place we got her (Fins n critters) closed down soon after i posted this, so now i'm not sure where i'll get a new friend
