So in wondering if there are safe plants to plant in a hamsters cage.
I know of safe herbs, grasses, etc.
I'm more interested in flowers, vegetable plants, and succulents. Thank you.

Re: Safe plants to plant in cage?
I'm sure you're already aware, but spider plants (minus the seeds and flowers, so keep an eye out for these) are safe. Sunflower seedlings are also safe.
HappyHamstersUK did a brilliant post on this a while ago: https://m.facebook.com/happyhamstersuk/ ... 46/?type=3 Have a read through the description and comments too, it's really interesting. I'll try and insert their graphic as a photo.
Where possible, try and raise the plants yourself from seeds or cuttings, so that you can ensure they are organic and no pesticides have been used. Some people recommend planting them in coco soil for extra safety.
Have you considered seed sprouting too?

I'm surprised to see spider plants on that list without mentioning the fact that the seeds or young buds could be dangerous. I'm glad you mentioned it though!Spud wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2024 4:30 am I'm sure you're already aware, but spider plants (minus the seeds and flowers, so keep an eye out for these) are safe.
