Thank you Sadie! That makes alot of sense I weighed him tonight and he appears to be stabilizing at 32 grams! So I guess I was getting all worried for nothing lol

Is this good weight gain for a winter white hammy? Or could he be eating too much?
Most hamsters are growing for the first 6-9 months of their life. So I wouldn't be concerned too much about a small amount of weight gain. The dwarves I've had have settle between 45g-60g as adults. It's a good idea to keep weighing though just so you can have a base line and more importantly know if he's losing weight rapidly, which can be a sign of illness.
