Thank you :D He's is a lil ball of cuteness for sure!

He is also seemingly quite tame, he took some sunflower seeds I offered him right out of my hand in his cage and playpen. He was not a fan of the playpen (I moved to fast on that ) So the next few days I'll take it slow, and offer him my hands with a lil food on them. His bites were not very harsh either!! He just nibbled and sniffed, then grabbed a seed.
He stuffed the seeds in his cheek pouches and didn't eat them..is that good or bad? He had no problems getting on my hands to get the seed either. Taco also let me pet him while he ate some millet and ran around his home.

What do you guys use to get the hamsters used to your hands? Because I don't want him to get fat...because he took 4 whole sunflower seeds and stuffed them away. And got millet. :D

Often times, I will just their favorite parts of whatever food I'm going to give them that day. So if I plan to give a spoonful of seeds, I pick out of a few seeds or maybe the meal worms to use as taming treats.

Thank you, that makes alot of sense haha. He's super tame already, he doesn't mind me petting him, and he rarely bites! And when he does bite..its because he smells food on me lol

I've just seen something (on a bearded dragon video lol) which you might find helpful regarding the cat situation.
Not my image, it's from a Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/reptiles/comme ... at_spikes/)

They're (pretty humane) mats full of anti-cat spikes which you can put on top of the cage to stop the cat jumping on it and lying on it.

Just now seeing this, so sorry for the late reply~ My cat hasn't tried to get up there as of yet, I think it may be to high for him. This is a great idea if I ever moved the tank, or got a new cat.. Thank you !! :D
