I don't think I would ever want to breed to make money but I would perhaps have a litter or two, someday to experience hamster pregnancy/taking care of litters and hopefully carry a piece of a beloved hamster forward into the world.

aspiring breeder here! In indonesia hamster genetics are so bad that some syrian hamsters are 80 grams and tiny

After having a little ourselves I can assure you it can be stressful but it was very rewarding, our Bets had a big lot for her first (and only) litter - a whole 13! We took her in pregnant, getting her and Brian (who is the father). We did copious amounts of research and talked to many vets, if or when you do decide it’s time, and the forum is still here and we’re both still active I am happy to give tips and help!

I have to say having 13 little babies running around is so much fun, we had a big tub from ikea for a playpen and I’d sit with my hand in there while they climbed me, they’d follow my hand around and if I walked around the tub they’d run around the edge where I was! I miss those that were given away dearly!
