Today on Sunday April 27th my very first Male and Syrian Hamster Houdini passed away. He was born December 27th according to the lady we got him from and we got him March 7th 2023. I don't even know what to say honestly except I could probably go on and on but he was such a good hamster. He never bit, sure we never got to hold him or pick him up but he let us pet him slightly and he was never vocal until one day and from them on he would squeak sometimes it's super cute. That's one video I wish I had a video of. He was super soft and loved his treats. Boy he was also a very messy boy and we had to change change his entire cage sometimes because it was not the best but that's one thing that made him unique. He never really was a fan of sprays but he sure did love these corns from Happy Hamstery. Rest in Peace Houdini! I will always love and miss you so so much! I hope you are getting all of the treats you want and more! March 7th 2023-April 27th 2025

Houdini will be missed
I hope you are doing ok, I remember when my first hammy passed. It was very painful. I would recommend going to the vet and getting him cremated, as well as getting some paw prints of him. I even got a custom blanket of him (only like $15-30). I'm sure he was the most amazing hammy!! He is loved and is definitely having fun on the rainbow wheel

Re: Rest In Peace Houdini ❤️
Thank you. The first day I was basically sobbing/bawling. And the first few days I haven't been sleeping super well. I keep thinking I hear him and that I'm going to see him but yesterday we cleaned out his cage. My mom actually put him in tissue paper and put him in a box and he stayed in our freezer until today when we took him to a crematory and I am getting an ink paw print, clay paw print, and a clipping of his fur. It's going to take like 3 days and I got to choose this pretty brown box and I paid extra to get his urn engraved with his name, a hamster next to his name and below March 7th 2023-April 27th 2025 which is the day we got him before he ran away and was missing until March 9th lol and the day we found him. My mom said she thinks he passed that morning as he was a bit warm in some spots and cold in others. Thank you for the suggestion. I decided to go this route as he is my longest living Hamster as my first two were from PetSmart and he was from most likely pet store hamsters and they had an accidental litter of babies. And we were able to interact with him a bit more sorta aside from not being able to pick him up or hold him lol. But he never bit us. Aww I love the custom blanket idea! Yes I think he is having fun too!AngelTheHam wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 1:25 pm Houdini will be missed![]()
