Good playpen?

Post by AngelTheHam »

Hi there! Not sure if this is the best topic to post this under. I am looking for a nice playpen, any recommendations?

I have tried to set up my own playpen by putting blankets down and surrounding the area with bins to block it off. I’m personally not a big fan of that, since it takes a while. My hammy is a big chewer, so some playpens I get worried she might destroy. The best playpen I’ve found is an Omlet playpen. I’m on a budget, though. I will probably buy it if I can’t find a better (and cheaper) option.

Let me know what you guys think! :D

I like this one, but it can be pricey. I use this for my rats! I use the 33 inch, but a 18 or 20 inch will work for hamsters. I like this, but its more of a permanent solution. Look for this on second hand sites, i got this on Facebook and it's in good condition! If you're worried about peeing, I use a roll of vinyl flooring for my rats. There are NO gaps.

Do not get the mesh ones, hamsters can usually climb the sides.

This one is also good for just assembling and storing, it folds up nicely.

I would reccomend looking for dogs! They have some nice acrylic playpens.

These plastic ones will work too. They are not hard to assemble, just takes long if you dont plan to keep it assembled.

I actually just bought the Omlet playpen. I got it 20% off (first order) so it evened out to about $100. It was pricy, but it it pretty nice! I haven't tested it out yet, so I'll update you when I've tried it :)

I'd like to hear how it goes, I usually use the fabric ones with varying success. I always put a lot of "toys" and hides in there so it's different every day.
