Moving the Niteangel
Hi we have had the 776 square inch Medium Niteangel Cage in the same spot for like 2 years or something. I don't remember exactly but does anyone have any advice on how to move it? My mom and her boyfriend Larry think that if we just take everything out including bedding and supplies that it can be moved or something like that. I also don't have another cage for Houdini and my mom thought we could bring it to the townhouse the day before and bring him there that same day but I don't feel comfortable doing that. Any suggestions on what we can do?

Yes, you can move it if you empty it. You have to keep it level or the rubber bands may pop off or break though. I grab it from the bottom corners.
Or alternatively, you can break it down and rebuild it.

Re: Moving the Niteangel
I've moved my XXL Rodipet Nagarium (practically the same enclosure) whilst full before. It takes two people, but it can be done. Mine was resting on a wooden board though, which made it much easier to maneuver, as I didn't have to worry about the cage buckling/breaking. So much easier than taking it apart, and saved loads of time. Houdini would probably find it less stressful too, as all his burrows will stay in one piece (hopefully).
Do you have a pet carrier you could pop him in whilst you're moving the cage? How long will the journey be?

If you are going to move it with the bedding inside, I would at least remove anything that might fall over when moving, or really heavy things like the sand bath.
If you can get a piece of plywood or something under it, you may be able to move together, like Spud said.

Thank you! I told my mom what you said and we are planning to put him in a travel carrier if we can lol and then move the cage as it is on our dolly most likely and then keep everything the same for the next few days for him to be comfortable and the way to the townhome from our apartment right now is about 27 minutes or so depending on traffic of course. My mom thought of maybe moving him the night before so that he's less stressed I think as the movers are coming Thursday at 10:30 but I'm hesitant.Spud wrote: Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:53 am I've moved my XXL Rodipet Nagarium (practically the same enclosure) whilst full before. Thank you! Yes I would definitely remove the sand bath, maybe his ceramic hideout and his food and water bowl for the time being maybe?Kikya wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 5:51 pm If you are going to move it with the bedding inside, I would at least remove anything that might fall over when moving, or really heavy things like the sand bath.

Re: Moving the Niteangel
Any advice on getting Houdini in his travel carrier? We are moving Thursday July 18th and will either move him tomorrow Wednesday July 17th or on Thursday but he is not tamed and is scared of us a bit still so I have never been able to get him in his carrier except for when we first picked him up when I got him of course.

Re: Moving the Niteangel
I would lure him into a jar or cup, with food, and then flip it once he's in. Then put your hand to cover the hole of the cup, and place him into the carrier.
