ready for a new friend
i'm ready for a new hammie friend after Obie pasted, bad part is the store we got her from closed down, and they were the only place we knew of who breed hamsters for their temperament, i live in North Carolina and my parents don't want to travel far, but i can't get a hammie from a breeder that flies hammies because i can not afford it, does anyone know were i can get a hammie in NC?

Re: ready for a new friend
I'm sorry to hear about Obie, but I'm glad you feel ready to welcome a new hammie into your home.
Have you approached local rescues?
There are often hamsters for rehoming on sites such as Facebook Marketplace/Petfinder/Kijiji/Gumtree etc. too

I'd recommend being persistent (looking for a long time even if you don't find any hamsters immediately) and looking at every hamster/keeping an open mind.
I didn't initially want a 1 year old female Syrian (I wanted an older male dwarf), but when I found Spud I realised she would be just the right hamster for me.
Many rescues are happy to deliver hamsters too, or at least meet you halfway.
