Spirit works in an entirely different way than Life and Mana. Life is depleted when you take damage, and Mana drains as you use abilities. Spirit, on the other hand, is primarily reserved for long-term abilities, such as minion summons or self-buffs, which means that it works based on a reservation system. This system allows specific skills or buffs to permanently reserve a portion of your Spirit pool, reducing the amount available for other abilities.

For instance, if you’re running a build that involves summoning permanent minions, each summon will reserve a chunk of your Spirit. The same goes for certain powerful buffs that remain active until deactivated, such as the Mercenary’s ability to deal explosive damage to nearby enemies when Overpowered.
