Putting 2 bin cages together to create continuous floor space

Post by Pumpkin »

Hi all,

I would like to put 200qt bin cages together and was wondering how much of of an opening would make it considered continuous floor space.

The Sterilite in the below link have a defined center section on the ends and was wondering if I remove that from both ends before putting them together if you think that would be enough to be considered continuous floor space or would I need to remove the entire ends?

For those who have this bin, what is the width of the center panel 10 inches up from the bottom?

Thank You!

Do you mean by cutting off the sides of the bin and gluing them togther? Since the bin is 50 gallons, even just stacking on top would be fine as well.

Hi bella33

Since my posting, I found the HDX 77 gallon storage bin on the Home Depot website and so I am going to get this instead of putting together the two 5O gallon bins.

Even though I have decided not to do this, someone might want to know how much of each end needs to be removed so that it is considered continuous floor space.

For example, if someone were to remove just the center section so that their is enough on the 2 sides to glue together, if they would be able to use the full width number x length to calculate the total sq inches or would they only be able to use the width of the cut out center section x length to calculate the total sq inches and the space on the sides would just be added bonus space but not part of the continuous floor space?

Thank You!

Thats awsome!
Happy you found a bin that works.

As for the bin measurements of the other, cutting out the center sections and adding up both sq inch would give the total I belueve.
