How to use BBCode on the forum

Post by Katkin21 »

It seems like a lot of people on the forum don't know how to use the coding built into the forum to help make links look better and pictures show I'm going to do a brief overview of some of the most used codes. If anyone wants help with any others I can include them just let me know in the comments.
  1. Images are an easy place to start there is a button built into the forum to use for this.
    Image
You have to post the link to the photo between the two square bracket sets it will look like this. You just need to make sure the link to the photo ends in .png, .jpg, or something similar to get the picture to show.

    Code: Select all

    [img]http://getwallpapers.com/wallpaper/full/3/7/f/1063871-cute-hamster-wallpaper-2048x1425-windows.jpg[/img]
This is what you get when used correctly.
    Image
  2. Another useful feature of the forum is the list function there are also buttons that can be used
    Image
For the bullet point list use the first button of the three and then the * button for each point.

    Code: Select all

    [list]
    [*]one
    [*]two
    [*]three
    [/list]
    • one
    • two
    • three
For numbered/alphabet lists you have to use the middle of the three options I've highlighted then after the equals in the square bracket you can choose how you start your list 1, a, A. Then it's the same as the other list and uses the * for each subsequent point.

    Code: Select all

    [list=1]
    [*]one
    [*]two
    [*]three
    [/list]
    1. one
    2. two
    3. three
  3. Spoilers are maybe one of my favourite features the ability to hide certain sections of a post to make it more condensed or a long signature.
    Image
Just use the button highlighted and put whatever you want to be hidden between the two sets of brackets. To let people know what is going to be in the spoiler you can add an = after the word spoiler in the first set of brackets and write a brief description.

    Code: Select all

    [spoiler=test]Spoiler testing[/spoiler]
    test
    Spoiler testing
  4. The link feature is the final feature I will explain it can make posts look significantly cleaner and less cluttered
    Image
This button is similar to the spoiler but the opposite you have to use the = then the link and then between the two sets of brackets you have to put the description.

    Code: Select all

Great idea putting this together 👍 BBCode can really improve how posts look and make content easier to follow.

For images, like you said, you just place the direct image URL between the image tags, making sure it ends in something like .jpg, .png, or .gif so it embeds properly.

For links, you can use the URL tag to make them cleaner, for example by adding custom text instead of pasting a long raw link.

Bold, italics, quotes, and lists also help structure posts and make guides much more readable. Happy formatting everyone!

You’re very welcome! 😊 BBCode can feel a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it really helps make posts clearer and more engaging. Just experiment a little and you’ll master it in no time. A bit of practice—and maybe a quick break like browsing Sanford pharmacy online—can make learning new tricks even easier!
