Re: Aglepristone for open pyometra?

Seriously, don't feel like you haven't done enough. You have gone beyond what most people would have. I hope a vet reaches out to you to try. The more I read up on this though the more promising it seems as a treatment if surgery isn't an option. It seems like the trickle down for hamster treatment...

Re: New hammie owner. I have no idea what to do about this.

Hey all. I'm new here. I'm a new hamster guardian. I just am looking for help. So to start off, he is a syrian hamster and around 8/9 months old..the only thing I have to compare this to is a sebaceous guinea pig cyst. This is my first hamster. I picked him up a week ago. He is a result of an accid...

Re: Aglepristone for open pyometra?

It looks like aglepristone/Alizin might not be an option for Skipper, after all: while the drug isn't banned in the U.S., it isn't available here and has to be ordered from abroad. So I'd have to find a vet willing to give it a try and we'd have to wait for the order to arrive. I reached out to two...

Re: Aglepristone for open pyometra?

I haven't tried it, I went through with the surgery and dealt with it that way. Would love to hear more updates if you do end up trying and also do you have any documentation on trying it? Because that could be helpful to other members. I do have experience convincing vets on using unconventional tr...

Re: Are you guys able to see my signature?

I just added a signature but I'm not sure if the image is working and it says there a image but I don't see it? What I did was go to My Profile -> Edit Signature, then I added an image link to the signature. I posted my signature on imgur, then I copied the BBC code to my signature page, so it's th...

Re: Skin falling off????

My Froggy has what appears to be skin falling off of the side of his face. It’s worth mentioning that when I was spot cleaning his burrow there was diarrhea and larvae living in it. I feel like a terrible hamster owner. The grown bugs are all over my room. I don’t know how long they were there for ...

Re: tumor/cyst potential surgery?

I've had multiple hammy surgeries in the past. You can make a cone or your doctor can make a tiny cone for them to wear. There are also some small cones on Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/Oncpcare-Recovery-Avoiding-Convenient-Adjustable/dp/B07KPJPTCV and https://www.amazon.com/Sugar-Glider-Recovery-Co...

Re: Fur and weight loss

Okay, I went through his photos and put some together. I wish the lighting was all the same for comparison. The dates are really correct. Note that August 30th was ~2 weeks after starting twice daily antibiotics and one antiparasitic treatment. He actually kept losing fur for 2 weeks after the init...
