Commercial Cage List (No DIYs or Bin Cages)

One of the most talked about topics is your hamster cage. Of course, it’s where your hamster spends most of its life! Though a lot of progress has been made in the cage department over the last few years, for some it’s still a struggle to find a suitable sized cage. I’m going to try to compile a list of 2-4 commercial cages available in several countries. Obviously, I cannot do all countries, but I will start with the US and the UK. If members know of other cages available to them, please PM me and I will add it to the list and credit you.

Please note, I am not including bin cages or DIY on this list because I will make a separate post just for those. I will also not list prices, because prices can change frequently. I will list the sq inches or cms of floor space, depending on the country. Most are available online, but I will note* the ones available in pet stores or able to be shipped to a store.

Glass Aquarium Tanks
I’m adding this as a separate category because glass tanks are available in many countries in ranges of 40-100 gallons, usually found in pet stores but also can be found used on resell sites such as Craigslist or Kijiji. They are not usually marketed as small animal cages but are quite suitable for hamsters. Be aware that these are VERY heavy and you will need at least two people carry these tanks and a strong enough piece of furniture to hold it.
