Thorn in Rosewood Nauture’s Salad

Post by HamstersAreMyLife »

I’ve been using the Rosewood Nature’s Salad for years now, as it’s affordable and easy to find where I live.
It makes a great forage mix!
Yesterday I was getting some out to put in to the new enclosure and I got poked! It was a thorn, which poked into my skin, but it didn’t draw blood.
It could easily have scraped a cheek pouch, though!
I will continue to use these, but I will be extra careful and make sure to go through all of them and thoroughly feel for thorns before putting them in the enclosure. I wanted to share this so that you or your hamster doesn’t get hurt!

Good spot- I used to get some every now and again in my guinea pigs' hay.
99 times out of 100 forage is fine, but sometimes you do get dodgy batches...

Have a nice day :D

Wow thanks for the heads up! It doesn't mean it's a bad mix but it's good to watch out for things!
