Rosewood Hamster Fun Maze

Post by Kevin »

Rosewood Hamster Fun Maze, brief describtion: thin plywood panels, sufficiently sized holes, very adjustable, benefits from sanding and varnishing.

Originally intended as a maze, it is a-maze-ingly well suited as a multichamber hide, which is how I will review it. You will most likely have spare panels which I say is a bonus. You will need a bit of crafty skills to turn it into a prober hide, as it doesn't come with a roof, and some holes might need patching up.

I intend to use this for my elderly syrian hamster, the size fits perfectly! Nice surprise :) No worrying about scratched cheek pouches or crammed hammies if you set it up for success.

I do have to mention that the slits for the panels to attach to eacherother are rough and a little janky, and I've had a thin slice of a panel crack off. This is fixed fairly easily by sanding.
Another minus is having to patch some of the holes in order to make it more isolated and feel safer as a hide for the hamster; this part requires crafty knowledge or help from a person with crafty knowledge, and supplies.
To truly turn it into a hide, you need a roof, which isn't a fair complaint for the product which is simply a maze. But I'm including it anyway as this review is reviewing it as a hide :P

How I have it set up: https://ibb.co/K6cM7b7 yet without roof and varnish

Thank you for the review! I'm glad the holes are big enough which I find most don't have holes big enough for Syrians!
