Meet Arlo!

Hi guys!! So I was planning on getting a WW today at PetSmart because I have no breeders or rescues near me but when I went to the petstore and looked at their selection, they had 4 Russian dwarfs, and 2 WWs. I looked at the one of the Russian dwarfs first but he had red eyes which I wasn’t a huge fan of lol. So I looked at the WWs and as soon as the worker took their hide off they started fighting and trying to bite, chasing after the workers hand (which doesn’t surprise me because I know they aren’t handled). And neither of them really stood out to me so we looked at the last 3 Russian dwarfs and I thought I really liked one of them that had a white belly and a brown back but then I saw the other one. He almost had a calico pattern with white spots! I knew I HAD to get him and we had everything set up for the cage so… here’s Arlo! I used one of his hides to transport him into the cage because the angle of trying to put the box in the cage was weird and he came up to me and sniffed my hand! I was surprised as to how calm he was and SO SOFT. I have never even touched a hamster before this and I was certainly not expecting that lol. He’s been roaming around his cage since we put him in and it seems like he really likes his tunnel! Here are some photos of him!!

Congratulations! He's so cute I was really surprised at how soft hamsters are too. It's amazing that he's already starting to be comfortable with you!

Félicitations pour Arlo, il est vraiment adorable. Tu as bien fait de prendre le temps d'observer les différents hamsters avant de faire ton choix, le premier contact est souvent révélateur. Le fait qu'il soit déjà curieux et qu'il soit venu sentir ta main est plutôt encourageant. Laisse-lui maintenant quelques jours pour s'habituer tranquillement à son nouvel environnement sans trop le solliciter.
