Hello!
My hamster is about 1 year 4 months old, and I have noticed his brown coat color become more dull in color, and he is starting to have my grey hairs. Is this normal? Do hamsters usually start showing signs of age around this time?

Re: Signs of aging in hamster coats
I think it's normal!
After 1 year, my long-haired brown hamster started to turn a lighter brown and he was close to white after 2 years. My current hamster is short-haired brown/white/brown (1 1/2 years old) and I noticed some of his white has become duller and some of his brown looks whiter or greyer. I want to say that my hamsters have started to go white/grey/duller in colour more on the back-end first and then gradually up near the head. But I don't know for sure. Fur on the face also might start thinning very faintly.
