Re: Bad stool

Angel has had a history of bad poops. I took her to the vet where they said that everything was on the normal range. Her stool is mushy, stinky, and wet, as well as there being hair sticking out sometimes. Now it is still that way, wet to the point that it will stick to things and mold within a few...

May Hamster of the Month Contest (HOTM)

Hi everyone, I know we haven't had a hamster of the month in a hot minute but I am going to try to bring it back. Unfortunately, I am not nearly as talented as some of the people on this site that give beautiful art as prizes so I will instead be offering a 5 dollar Amazon gift card (or if you are i...

Re: Is My Hammy Dying????

He is drinking and seems better today, he is moving better and I suspect he was constipated of something like that because he is no longer dragging his rear end. I am continuing to monitor him throughout the day/night! Thanks for the tips! -HammynamedCheese I hope your hammy is doing better Here's ...

Re: Help taming my new girlie

I’m starting to think it’s a me thing now, where I’m nervous to have my hands around her and she is somehow picking up on that and being aggressive. I say this because she rarely bites my boyfriend. He can handle her and she will maybe nip him once or twice. But even if my hands are in there she’s ...

Re: Hamster mix making my own question

Seems like most of the packaging states the dried weight for nutrition profile and the weight for cooked amount , how then do we calculate guaranteed analysis for the mix? Do we just use the dried nutrient profile? Hey there, if you are using dried ingredients you should use dried nutrient profile....

Re: Pacing/jumping in large cage

Angel has been pacing and jumping a lot lately. Any ideas? She has over 1000 sq in, a wheel, sand bath, water bottle and bowl, 4 different substrates (besides bedding), 6-8 inches of bedding, 4 hides (2 open bottoms), many toys and foraging puzzles, and a burrow starter. There are also many woods i...

Re: Help with my homemade diet journey

Congrats are starting the journey of doing a homemade mix. I responded to your PM. It sounds like you've done a great job doing your research. Personally, the best things to do when making a homemade mix is try it out with your hamster. Get the ratios right yes, but also, take the hamster's preferen...

Re: Good playpen?

I actually just bought the Omlet playpen. I got it 20% off (first order) so it evened out to about $100. It was pricy, but it it pretty nice! I haven't tested it out yet, so I'll update you when I've tried it :) I'd like to hear how it goes, I usually use the fabric ones with varying success. I alw...

Re: Am afraid I set taming back

Today is 6 days from when I received Archimedes, and he has been approaching my hand and taking treats from me, albeit very warily and in a scared manner. However today he seems to have reverted back into the scared hamster I saw on day 2, I began trying to feed him at the end of day 3. I fear I mu...
