Loads of rescues in the UK recommend beech chips as an additional substrate for hamsters.

Same here, I don't support breeding animals as pets anyway :) I only intend to rescue animals, not support the breeding of them (guide dogs etc. are different obviously). wouldn’t breeding them to be happier in captivity improve their quality of life? so many hamsters are so stress when kept as pet...
