Hi there,
I know this is an old post, but first, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Charlie <3 But I'd like to say thank you for documenting this illness. My Buttercup has a swollen stomach, and I just noticed today that he has been peeing a lot more than usual in his sand box. He is around 2.5 ...

Re: Homemade Pain Medicine?
Thank you for this.
I won't give him any medicine for humans... I was just secretly hoping one of you all would say it was OK. It's just hard because I have no control over how he's feeling and his overall trajectory.
Again, he doesn't seem to be in active pain -- no whining, limping, etc -- but ...

Re: Homemade Pain Medicine?
Thank you for this. <3
His water dish is on top of his multi-chamber house, and maybe now I'll put his food on top of it too so he won't have to go so far and forage. I think I'll start to give him some of his favorites: peanut butter, broccoli, apple, spinach. In the meantime, I'm grateful every ...

Homemade Pain Medicine?
Hi everyone,
I'm sad to report that I think my Buttercup is preparing to cross the rainbow bridge. I took him to the vet last week for his distended stomach, but the vet said that he isn't in pain and that it was likely constipation, although the possibility for tumors in his stomach couldn't be ...

Re: Butters has a Swollen, Hard Stomach
Hi there!
Good news-- Buttercup is likely just constipated! The vet said his stomach sounds like "rolling thunder" so there was lots of activity in there, which indicates overeating and constipation/fluid retention. His stomach is very disdended so there is a chance for tumors, but she said he isn ...

Re: Butters has a Swollen, Hard Stomach
Hi there,
I think so too. I am going to take him to the vet on Friday. I don't know if I'd want him to go in for surgery, but if there is any pain meds or antibiotics I can give him I will.
I hope my little angel is OK. For anyone who sees this, please send prayers for Buttercup. <3

Butters has a Swollen, Hard Stomach
Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing great... long time no post. I've been so very happy with my beautiful Buttercup (aka Butts, aka Butters) for over two years now. We celebrated his two-year Gotcha Day in October, and I'm so happy he is with us. I don't now how old he was when I got him, but the ...
